CHRISTINA BURCHARD is an award-winning documentary filmmaker living in Los Angeles. She studied theatre in Miami, FL where she explored the use of video projection during live performance before moving to New York to pursue film. Christina began her career editing documentaries and edited with the team on the Academy Award winning film "Citizenfour". Over the last decade, she has developed stories about complicated heroes and mega fraudsters, athletes and artists, dark hearts and inspired minds. In 2017, she directed two episodes of the Emmy nominated documentary series "Why We Fight" which took her to the steppes of Mongolia.
Currently, Christina is directing Season 2 of the IDA nominated documentary series "The Confession Tapes" for Netflix, produced by A24. She has worked with numerous brands and developed projects supported by the MacArthur Foundation, the Sundance Institute, the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund, and The Harnisch Foundation/Awesome Without Borders, as well as, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, ESPN, PBS, Investigation Discovery, VICE, International Venice Film Festival, IDFA festival in Amsterdam, DOC NYC, Sundance, and the Toronto Film Festival, among others.
